The United States of America (USA) is a large country in North America located between Mexico and Canada. It is made up of 50 states with the Capital being Washington DC. The US is one of the most developed countries in the world and has the largest GDP of any country since 1890 contributing to 25% of the worlds economy.
Due to the country being so large it has a massive range of climates all across the country, In the climate ranges from Humid Continental in the North and Humid Subtropical in the south. Also located in the south are desert areas which are extremely dry and hot throughout the year. However there are also mountainous areas in the North West which have a colder alpine climate. Also there are some states that border the Gulf of Mexico that are prone to hurricanes / tornados in some months due to the hot temperature of the gulf of mexico and in other states like California in the hottest summer months drought can occur from the raised temperatures and the lowered rainfall.
Sports are a massive part of the United States's culture, historically the national sport was baseball but in more recent years American Football has become massively more popular however, basketball, ice hockey and soccer have also all become massively more popular over the years. Sports also play a massive part with education as most high schools and universities all having organized sport teams which some are just as popular as some professional sports teams with colleges recieving large payouts from TV companies which gives talented students scholarships at the University.
